In April of 1983, Jo Ann Spencer, with the help of her husband Ed, turned the family's two car garage into Pisces Pool Supply. Why? Having grown-up with ear infections everytime she went swimming, Jo Ann wanted to offer a service of treating pool water. The only pool she had ever swam in and didn't get an ear infection was her brother-in-law's. So Jo Ann asked his wife, "What do you use in the pool that keeps the water so crystal clear and keeps me from getting an ear infection?" She replied, "BioGuard pool chemicals."

Jo Ann then founded Pisces Pool Supply with the mission of "providing consumers with the products and knowledge of how to maintain crystal clear, sanitized pool water".

Due to the expansion of the business into selling pools and spas, in July of 1985, Jo Ann changed the name to reflect what she has offered and incorporated the business, hence, Pisces Pools & Spas, Inc.

After 20 years in business, the only things that have changed at Pisces is the breadth and depth of products we carry, due to a new store with a 40' x 80' showroom, and Jo Ann's daughter, Karri with the help of her husband Keith, now own and manage the store, however you will find Jo Ann behind the counter. The one thing that hasn't changed and will never change is our mission "to provide our customers with the best products and knowledge of how to maintain crystal clear, sanitized water in their pool or spa."

Pisces is a member of the Better Business Bureau of Southern IL, the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals, and recently became a member of Aquatech. Aquatech is a nationalwide assocication of professional pool builders and retailers who excel at excellence, who meet the highest standards of quality, service, and creativity for those who demand the best. Membership is by inviation only and all members must meet stringent standards.
